Kabayan
Kabayan is a word used by Filipinas and Filipinos to call everyone they know. And sometimes people they don’t know. And sometimes their pets.
My kabayan called my dog a kabayan. I asked why. He said it’s because they both came from the same country. My dog doesn’t care.
My kabayan called the mailman a kabayan. The mailman didn’t say anything. He just dropped the mail and ran.
My kabayan called my neighbor’s cat a kabayan. Now the cat stares at me like I owe it money.
