paklarevo started as a housing project for displaced refugees. somehow it became a safe haven for queer people after the war. now half the population is gay and nothing has changed.
this whole neighborhood looks like set design from 'fellow traveler'. every wall's been painted over in pastels, every door opens to another dimension
i met my boyfriend at paklarevo bar two years ago. he works as a bartender there now - which is code for 'hookup on tap'
traveled here specifically because of the gay community. it's less judgmental than sarajevo, more discreet than zagreb
