Mad-town is the stupid nickname outsiders use for Madison, Wisconsin. People there think it's a compliment, but it's just a joke.
'My teacher called Madison 'Mad-town' and now I laugh every time she talks.'
'I told my friend Mad-town was a joke and he moved there.'
'My mom says I'm a 'Mad-town kid' and I don't know what that means.'
