Laang
South Indians call a machete a laang. It’s what you use to beat the hell out of coconuts and trees when you’re tired of waiting for them to drop.
I saw my dad hit a coconut tree with a laang and then laugh like it was a joke.
The laang was so heavy, it almost broke my back when I tried to lift it.
My neighbor uses a laang to open coconuts like they’re his enemies.
