My teacher screamed at me for saying 'I am' wrong. I’m not wrong. I’m just not loud enough.

I said 'I am' like 'I am'. She said I was 'I am' like a robot.

Why do I have to say 'I am' when I can just say 'I am' in English? I’m not confused. I’m just lazy.
