She said her phone was broken. I said, 'I had to use my dog's phone. It had a chewed-up screen.'

He said he got a D on his science test. I said, 'I got a D for not doing my science homework.'

She said her cat knocked over her lamp. I said, 'My cat knocked over my whole house.'

He said he had to do his math homework all night. I said, 'I did mine in the dark. My lamp was broken.'
