gallinate
When you take something complicated, like an idiom, and turn it into something that even your grandma can understand. And probably curse about it.
My teacher gallinated the phrase 'spill the beans', now it just means 'tell the truth, you idiot.'
My brother gallinated 'break the ice', now it just means 'stop being awkward, you dork.'
My mom gallinated 'hit the sack', now it just means 'go to sleep, you're being annoying.'
